Phishing Exploit Aimed at MasterCard Users

With the recent news of yet another major data loss by a company managing credit card information for MasterCard holders, security firms are already seeing exploits to take advantage of worried MasterCard users.

Several "phishing" emails have been spotted in the wild that warn the user that due to the compromise of their MasterCard account, they must log into the website (link provided in the phishing email), and change or update their MasterCard information.

Remember, member... your credit card company will NEVER ask you to change essential credit card information by visiting a link sent in an email, and even if they did, you're way too smart to comply, yes?

Use the phone to contact the company and verify the validity of ANY email communication about your credit information, credit history, online purchases, or electronic banking.
