Is There A Digital Camera On Your Wish List? A digital camera is an efficient and effective tool for any real estate agent! The ability to take a picture of a property and automatically email it to a client or add the photo to an existing listing can be invaluable. Whatever camera you choose, buy one that meets these minimum requirements for MLS photo purposes: 1. Photograph must be saved in a .jpg format. 2. Resolution is to be 640 pixels by 480 pixels. 3. DPI (dots per inch) recommended at 150. 4. Resolution or DPI can be larger but may get distorted if too large. In mega pixels ideally 1 to 2 megs (1MB or 2 MB). Photos exceeding 4 MB must be significantly reduced resulting in blurred photos. Remember, each listing is allowed only 12 photos. Photos can be added once you have a valid listing number. A listing and its primary photo are downloaded nightly to approximately 900 IDX websites as well as the following: REALTOR.COM SIGNONSANDIEGO.COM NCTIMES.COM Calculate the possible exposure your listing(s) can receive from these websites and you will appreciate the value and power of quality photos!
